Kindergarten Draws Birds...

As we prepare to say "Goodbye" to winter and "HELLO" to spring, we've been learning all about some of the birds we can see in our neighborhood. We learned about the robin, cardinal, blue-jay, sparrow and hummingbird. There are many other types of birds we could see as well. In the computer lab we drew birds using the PAINT program. We had fun taking what we learned to do with pen and paper and transfer it to the computer. Take a look at what nice birds we drew:

Dear Mrs Blakely's class. I am a Kindergarten teacher in Berne, Switzerland and this weekend I have been to an Early Years Conference in Belgium. I have been to a workshop about blogging as it is something I want to start with my class and I saw your blog. I really enjoyed reading what you have been doing and I loved looking at your pictures of birds. You have given me lots of ideas for starting my own class blog. Thank you. Pam York

Ms. York,
WOW! How exciting to have someone from so far away take notice of our blog! We love getting comments from across the globe. The Kinders are learning to recognize flags from all over the world as we take note of who's visiting our blog. Thanks so much for taking the time to comment!

Wow what amazing birds.. it must be so exciting seeing the birds returning and singing again. I love the detail of your birds and that you were able to create them using Paint. Your teacher has some fantastic ideas and skills that she is sharing with you,.. and you are sharing with the world. Thanks Beverly

Hi Beverly,
Yes, I think the kids did a fabulous job using PAINT to draw the birds. We saved them as JPEG files and then used MovieMaker to create the video. It's fun to share. The kids will be thrilled when I share your comments.
THANKS!
Cindy
