Fun Books About Birds...

I received an email from LOOKYBOOK.com today. It seems their site has shut down. What a shame to see such a lovely site close. I am revising this post to include two books from Amazon.com

What are some fun books about birds that you enjoy?

I really like the book "Stellaluna." I know it is not really about birds, but I just love the look on the birds faces when Stellaluna tries to teach them to hang upside down. Also, Stellaluna looks like she is trying to behave and act like a bird, but it is really hard for her.

Hello,
Stellaluna is one of our favorite books. We read it a while back when we were learning about bats, and referred to it as we were learning about birds. It's a great book that also teaches about the joy of making friends and the discovery of how we can be both alike and different and still be friends.
Thanks for sharing!

Dear Kindergartners, I really enjoyed looking at your wonderful bird pictures! I loved the colors and details you used in your picures. I see many of these birds in my backyard, do you?

Children should always be kept inspired about reading books of the nature.

There is a newer book that is great to use with primary and maybe even intermediate kids. Its Little Red Bird, by Nick Bruel. In rhyme, about a caged bird who gets a chance to fly outside of her safe cage where everything she needs is there, she has to decide whether to go or stay free, and the book invites comparison and contrast, deeper questions about taking responsibility with older students, and is on several levels just delightful to read with children.
