35,000 Visitors...

It seems we had a lot to celebrate in February! Among the things we celebrated was the fact that we reached 35,000 visitors to our blog! Anyway we look at it, that's a big number for Kindergarteners! :-)
We celebrated by doing something we haven't done in class this year... we had lunch at school!We had lunch delivered by our good friend Tony, (AKA The Dogfather). We had hotdogs, chips, cookies and juice. YUMMY!
We couldn't have reached this milestone without the help of friends, family and other curious folks that visit our blog.

A Double Celebration...

We are trying to get caught up here on our blog. Back on Feb. 13th we had a "Double Celebration". Due to several snow days, we ended up celebrating the 100th Day of School, along with Valentine's Day! Talk about a FULL day! If you're wondering what the 100th Day is all about we'll try to explain. Since our very first day of school, back in August of '08, we have been counting the days we have been in school. We can only count the days we are actually in class so having snow days can't be included. We were not so sure about celebrating two special events in the same day, but what else could we do? We couldn't celebrate the 100th Day on the 99th day, nor could we wait until the 101st day of school. It just didn't seem right. We agreed that a double party was both well deserved and the right thing to do! ;-)

10,000 Visitors....

We can hardly believe it...on Monday, February 25, 2008, we had our 10,000th visitor to our blog! We have anxiously awaited the turning of the counter to 10,000! It's such a big number for us. We are glad so many people have taken the time to visit our blog.

Today we celebrated in style. We invited parents to join us for a "Game Day". Several kids brought games in from home, Mrs. Blakely dug out her labyrinth game for us to play with too. Everyone had a great time!

We also had our lunch catered by our favorite... The Dogfather. We had hotdogs, chips, cookies and juice. Mmm mmm good! Thanks Tony! We never have lunch at school so this was an extra special treat!

Thanks also to everyone who has ever visited our site. We couldn't have done it without you! ;-) Keep visiting! We'll keep you posted on all the fun things we are learning and doing in Kindergarten. Thanks again!

The 100th Day of School...

Today we celebrated 100 days of school! We have been counting all the days since the very beginning of Kindergarten. We couldn't count any days that school was closed, only the days we were actually here. Along the way we have learned to count by 1's, 5's and 10's. We've learned about place value; the ones place, the tens place and now the hundreds place. We've talked about the importance of putting the digits in the right place to show the correct value of a number; for example 17 and 71 do not have the same value. We have been anxiously awaiting our celebration. Our room was decorated and we made 100 day glasses. We did 100 exercises. Each child was to bring in 100 snacks to put in the big bowl to make a "trail mix" treat. We sorted our treats by size, color, crunchiness, etc. It was delicious! Veteran's Visit...

On October 11th we had an early Veteran's Day celebration at our school. We had several Veterans come for breakfast, a special school-wide ceremony, classroom visits and lunch. Samantha invited both of her grandpa's to come and visit with us. It was truly a special day!

Blog Party...

Today we celebrated the fact that we had 1,000 visitors to our blog. Mrs. Schroeder baked cake for us. We also had ice-cream and milk. Maggie added cookies to the PM class treats. Thanks to everyone who visits our blog. Keep checking in on us....we LOVE to share our Kindergarten world with you.
