It must be very different to wait 17years to hear them - but also exciting.
BeverlyManaia Kindergartenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09233159606823117013noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-412696653719936060.post-30298674047592388812008-03-24T22:16:00.000-05:002008-03-24T22:16:00.000-05:00Hi Beverly,Funny you should mention the cicadas! They quite the "buzz" around town. ;-)
We had just a few by our school. The majority were found in areas with much older trees. Many of our kids went to nearby towns to gather "souviners". It's amazing that they live in the ground for 17 years and emerge for such a short time. Do you get them every year?Cindyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15127273859427000670noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-412696653719936060.post-69113149955958693852008-03-24T21:36:00.000-05:002008-03-24T21:36:00.000-05:00We so wish for Robin to fly into your lives along ...We so wish for Robin to fly into your lives along with a long warm spring. isn't the weather funny around the world. We have had the longest hotest summer for many years. We hope for the same for you (but we don't want your winter - thanks). The sign of spring for us is usually the sound of cicada's - it's a song that fills the air at bbqs. Do you have cicadas?
BeverlyManaia Kindergartenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09233159606823117013noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-412696653719936060.post-5953613901430185492008-03-22T23:29:00.000-05:002008-03-22T23:29:00.000-05:00When we see the gophers come out, we know spring i...When we see the gophers come out, we know spring is here!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-412696653719936060.post-85127255843241383152008-03-21T19:58:00.000-05:002008-03-21T19:58:00.000-05:00We all want Spring to come...but another snow stor...We all want Spring to come...but another snow storm? I am glad you enjoyed the pictures and the song. I was looking on the Internet and found a web site that you might like. Someone was lucky enough to have a pair of robins build a nest right under their window. This person took photos every day. You get to see the birds grow a little more each day...from the time they were still in the eggs, until they were big enough to leave the nest!
Here is the link to the web site about the THE BABY ROBINS .
